I'm drivin now for about 5 years with a sidecar on my TR1. I did let build a Squire sidecar to the bike by Engbers sidecars (EZS)in Zelhem, Holland. They have a website but i dont know the exact url. It is on the German border near Gronau. It was apr. € 1000,00 for the construction. I bought the sidecar seccondhand. I have changed nothin on the bike accept a subframe for the sidecar and a sabilizer between the front forks. Now I can drive the TR1 also withot sidecar. It's only half an hour work to demount the thing. In the future I want to change the (rear) suspension. Thats absolutely too soft but it cost a lot of money. I'm very satified in fact eventough it did take me about a year to get used to that stupide thing on my right. But the kids love it and that makes it all worth wile. The fuel consuption is nou apr. 9-10L/100km The engine did lately start to consume a lot of oil. The engine pressure is very high and oil leaks from the airfilter. I think I have a broken pistonring but if this comes from the sidecar is not clear. I have driven in apr. 35 deg.heat with full load, mounain up on a solo TR1 and that thig became so hot that I had to hang beside the windscreen to get some cooling for myself, but no broblems. Let us know when you decidet to do it and show some pictures here. You can see my bikes on www.imageppo.com. Nou also in English. |
