Handling depends on what you like. I have changed my front wheel to 18 inch and i love it, Sepp says that a 19 inch front wheel is better for the TR1.

Tyres are no problem, the best tyre for the TR1 ever, the BT45, is available in 18 inch too. Wink

Bye,
Georg

Hello J

I went for the XS650 hubs and spokes on my bike too.

I was advised to go for the 18inch rims at the front. I am really glad I did as the handling is very tight and responsive.

I ended up with 18x2.5 rims at the front and 18x4.25 at the rear. I have had BT45's on my TR1 before and they are very good but with my rim choice I couldn't get a BT45 set to match. I settled on the Avon Roadrider simpy because I could match the tyres to the rims. I have seen bad comments about the Roadriders but I have found them to be as good as the BT45's.

Regards
Kevin

Ouch. Be careful with the roadsliders if the road is wet or cold...

hey Schorsch, in great britain they have no rain and it isnt cold....................... Wink

for this rims the best tyres in the moment are the Dunlop Roadsmart 2 or the Conti road attack 2.

Racing is the answer, but I don't remember the question!

We live on a warm island in the gulf stream so hardly ever get cold or rain ..............  Grin

I have already fitted the 'Roadsliders' so too late to change now. But thanks for the info. Having said that I have not come off the bike yet and not found problems with grip. But. I do try to avoid the cold and wet when riding my bike.

I have a 150 tyre fitted at the rear. I am thinking of increasing the width of the rear rim to 5 1/2 inch and fitting a 170mm tyre. I have checked and the Bridgestone do a BT56 that will fit front and rear.

What is your opinion of the BT56, are they as good as the BT45?

Thank you
Kevin

interesting  differences between the 18' and 19' front

greetings  Sepp what would you regard was the difference between the 19' and 18 " front and why you prefer the 19 "

im using Metzeler Lazertec's at the moment but the bike isnt on the road yet i still have to complete some top end engine mods
any body else using the lazertecs ?

re the exhaust   ,its a custom 2 into 1 ,made by  an engineer friend who originally owned the bike he calculated the best muffler size for best low end power
