Hello Peter

Do you have a part number for the part?

If you need it the parts catalog is in the 'Technics' section.

part no was 5A8-15517-00   no longer available but the replacement of this with a xv1100 1986 part solved the problem. This item has a less aggressive engagement spline works well.I changed the starter soleniod with a more recent one which was unsuccessful as the throw was just a couple of mm's greater and caused all sorts of problems and I had to revert back to the original.   thanks to all those that post issues on this forum.Happy motoring
