vacuum hose filters alternative
12.05.23 at 22:24:39

Recently bought my first tr1 xv1000, it has open exhausts, pod airfilters. Didn't run good. Cleaned the carbs etc. looking at jetting it properly now. However, i guess on the vacuum hoses to the carb there are two filters, mine are both shot, the filter has eroded and the housing opened up. Are there any alternatives for it? I think the correct part no. is 3CG-14396-00-00 it's just called " pipe"  I will attach an example, which is not from my bike btw.
Thanks in advance!

Btw I'm located in Rotterdam the netherlands! Awesome forum you guys got here! some amazing info and manuals!!

Hi,

Aha.

Well, you said that already... Wink

I believe these hoses are just ventilation hoses and there is just a piece of foam plastic in them. Perhaps you can glue the housings and put some air filter foam into them.

Hi all, hi Hans,

I have some of those filter hose assemblies (Yamaha parts, no alternatives) and could send them to you. The parts are second hand parts (remains of donator bikes that have been wrecked out). Therefore: No guarantee for a shiny look, but a good chance for functional parts (some of them at least...). We can exchange our adress data via PN, and I will send you the parts to Rotterdam.

Groetjes uit Lüneburg,

Triwinger

hey thanks a lot!! i might take you up on that! I tried to fix it like hornschorsch advised, so lets first see what happens, when i can get the bike run properly. Previous owner put pods on it, open pipes, big washers on the gas needle and jets that dont make much sense,,, so it needs a lot of tweaking!!

As a reference for the right mixture, the carburetors need information about the current air pressure.

And not the air pressure of the environment, but after the air filter. That's what these hoses are for.

Herr Kroete,

Quote:
As a reference for the right mixture, the carburetors need information about the current air pressure.
für das richtige Mischungsverhältnis brauchen die Vergaser also was? Den aktuellen Luftdruck? Nix verstehn.

Quote:
And not the air pressure of the environment, but after the air filter. That's what these hoses are for

Was bitte will der Dichter sagen?
