750cc TR1 import (Read 1754 times)

Mike Stoner(Guest) Ex Member	750cc TR1 import 28.08.03 at 11:00:00 I have a 1981 TR1 with a 748cc engine. Imported to the UK from Japan in 1991. I have great trouble finding what bike to order parts from. A UK TR1 or XV750. Is it the same as a TR1 just with a different bore size? UK Yamaha dealers have no record of the chassis nmber so I will be guessing. Can anyone help? Chassis no. 5KO-020149 and engine no. 5E5. I need to replace most of the starter clutch assembly and the springs associated with gear change. Help much appreciated. Mike

John Kitzmiller(Guest) Ex Member	750cc TR1 import Reply #1 - 02.09.03 at 15:38:00 Mike, I would wager the parts from any of the older XV750/920 Viragos would fit. The real differences between the 750 and 920 are in the top end, I believe the bottom ends are identical. Even the cams and exhaust are the same. Con rods are different.
