Hi all,

I've got some problems with starting my TR1 (1982).
The starterclutch is already replaced and seems to work just fine, the problem is that the solenoid doesn't seem to get the gears in place all the way.
When i start i hear a klick and the solenoid comes out to halfway to where it is supposed to be.
I can get it all the way out but that requires some help from my friends piece-of-wood and hamer. (this doesn't seem to be a heathy way to get it going)
I've tried to put the 12Volts of my battery straight on the solenoid, with no succes. I even tried my 164Ah battery, with no succes.
The gears that are supposed to link with eachother (one of them is the big gear behind the flywheel) are somewhat worn down but not to the point where i would replace them.

As far as i have tested the electrical part of it all seems to work perfectly.
The engine has started fine the first few times i tried but that's over now.


I'm realy lost here, anyone have some ideas??!?
