bike troubles (Read 2449 times)

m_henon Ex Member	bike troubles 30.07.08 at 22:21:03 hello, im new here to the forum, i have a 1981 xv920 which looks like the TR1. i picked it up on a really good deal. the frame # is 5H1- i dont know much about it. if anyone could help i would be greatful. it starts up and idle's great but when given the throttle it falls flat on its face and just dies. does anyone know what would cause it to do that?

Oiso, der Kollege schreibt, seine XV springt gut an und hat auch gleich stabilen Leerlauf. Wenn er am Gas dreht geht sie aus. Wörtlich: fällt flach auf das Gesicht und stirbt einfach. Was soll man dem Mann raten? Mein Problem ist: "to give the throttle" heisst für mich Gas geben, aber auch die Drossel zu machen. Wenn ich nur wüsste was er da treibt.

Gentleman start your engine 3. let it run for a minute 4. push the choke back very slow 5. during pushing back the choke, play carefully with the throttle 6. should run - if not you should clean the carburetors greets T M

m_henon Ex Member	Re: bike troubles Reply #3 - 07.08.08 at 06:16:28 i tried the choke the bike ran about 20min. a kid knocked over the bike and it been doing this ever since. and parts for this bike is hard to find.
