I'd say got for 115-120 mains, standard needle and about 15 or 17.5 pilots. (Jet sizes taken from a set of TM40ies (formerly on my TR1) and a TM36 on my XT500 - which all play roughly in the same ball park)

Hope this gives you a base to start from.

Cheers,
Greg

34 sounds awfully small to me... but then a CV-carb will only give you a cross-sectional are of about 2/3 of its diameter, when flow is concerned, so with that considered, you may actually get away with it.

Cheers,
Greg

34 might bee wice? We speak about twin setup? THerese a lot of univerasl twin setup cables for xs and other bikes.  I have some experience with the VM round slide for Suzuki LS 650 single sylinder. I use a VM36 becauce, after others experience, a 38 does not give the right air velocity or vacume? The recommandation I have for LS 650 from people who have spent a lot of time on it says that the vm 36 will deliver enough for all kinds of motortuning. Cams, high comp etc.  If you look at the link -braigasen, the SR 500 single uses the vm 34 for exsample.

But only in stock form, they gain a lot, once you fit a TM36 flatslide...

Interesting. It is funny to learn about the mysterious world of carbs.  Smiley I mounted a O2 gauge permanently on my Ls650 to monitor especially on top speed. it helped me a lot. But I still use my ears to determine if the engine is rich or lean, and my hand to feel how hot the sylinder is.

Looking forward to hear more about the VM34 experience on top speed. Dont loose your licence Grin

Have a pair of 38 VM`s in a older race Project, first with 750 ccm - with a big hole downstairs, but runs good upstairs -
then with a original 1000 ccm engine and without air filter, runs well, but not so easy to handle like the Dellortos.
LLD 17,5 or 20, HD between 260 and 280.

Racing is the answer, but I don't remember the question!
