TCI unit repair
11.04.17 at 21:24:18

Hi. I'm busy repairing my tci unit but I am urgently in need of a part number on the circuit board. There are 4 transistors. 2 heat sink transistors and 2 smaller transistors. I need a number for the small transistor pls.

If I remember correctly, it no longer give the appropriate transistors.
But there is an alternative:

http://www.ignitech.cz/en/
http://www.ignitech.cz/en/vyrobky.htm
http://www.ignitech.cz/en/vyrobky/tcip/tcip.htm

Many here, from forum, drive with this box, and satisfied they are.

I have tried finding something there but no luck. I live in South Africa and not many places able to help. I was hoping to find someone with tci unit that could check the number for me. I can then go to an electronic shop and buy the part.

Check on Virago Tech Forum, a guy overthere thoroughly dissected one of these boxes (you may have to search a bit until you find it...)

Cheers,
Greg

Hi,
I have no clue about electronics, but this is a pic of my original TCI unit, opened for review. If you could mark up the pic for the item/number you are searching for, I could try to identify those.
My bike is running with an Ignitec unit since some years now.

Hi Jurgen. It's the small transistor on the bottom circuit board. Right at the bottom all the way on the right side. It's a half moon shape right next to the small capacitor. Carefully move it away from the capacitor so the glue does not remove it's number. I think the number starts C1.

There is one on either side of the circuit board.

Hi,
this is what I could save with my camera - looks a little scratchy but I hope it answers your question
