My new 920 Won't start - Need Help!!!

I just purchased a 83 920. I have heard all the horror stories about the starters. I had the starter, solenoid, and battery checked out and they are all good.(thats what they say) When I hit the start button-no turnover. I get a click of the solenoid but starter doesn't do anything.
I overroad the solenoid and the starter engaged and the bike fired right up. They say that the solenoid is good. Got any suggestions??? Thanks!!!

Check the cut-off relay and check the starter circuit wiring for breaks or bad connections. The cut-off relay is under the seat; it can be identified by its wire colors; red/white, blue, black/yellow, red/white.
Good luck!!

Thanks Lars . I will check that out in the morning. I'm not real sure how to check it, other than replace it. Is there some easy way to check that relay or possibly bypass it until I can see if it is the culprit. Thanks again.

Hi.I recognize your problems since I think Í´ve had the same and all the other problems as well.Check the coals and the springs that keeps the coals tight to the starters ancher/rotor.Try also to lubricate (copper paste) the end bars and the shims of the anchor/rotor.Good Luck / Claes
